For a long time, color was considered the final phase of a project: an aesthetic choice, a finish, a surface. Tingiri Handmade Colors was born from the opposite perspective: to restore to color the role of design material, recognizing its origin, composition, and cultural value.
Painting is not just a gesture. It is a return to the origins.
Tingiri was born in Sicily, amidst intense light, salty wind, and colors that seem to have come from an infinite palette. After years of studies, trials, errors, mixed pigments, and stubborn dreams, we have created handmade watercolors designed for those who feel the need to truly express themselves.
In Sicilian, "Tingiri" means to paint. For us, it means much more: it means slowing down, observing, feeling.
Every color is handmade, with care and passion, one by one. We do not just produce simple watercolors. We create tools to tell stories and emotions.

The Founder
Who is behind Tìngiri Handmade Colors
Dr. Gianmarco Toscano
Founder & CEO
A graduate in Product Design, Gianmarco Toscano is the founder of Tìngiri Handmade Colors—a research and dissemination project dedicated to natural pigments, identity colors, and the material traditions of Sicily.
He conceived Planimetrie.net, an innovative startup specializing in the artistic representation of spaces, now present in Italy and numerous foreign countries. Author of Unconventional Design, with a preface by Diego Dalla Palma and praise from Alessandro Mendini and Paola Marella.
Some of his works have been selected by art critic Vittorio Sgarbi for his private collection. He is a member of ADI, AIAP, and New European Bauhaus.
We do not produce simple watercolors. We create tools to tell stories and emotions.
